Fresh Off the Ferry? Save $1.5 on the MTR!


From 16 July 2011 to 15 January 2012, passengers travelling from Mui Wo, Cheung Chau, Peng Chau, Yung Shue Wan or Sok Kwu Wan to urban area can save up to $1.5 discount. Simply wave your Adult Octopus Card on the Octopus Reader of the MTR Fare Discount Processor and enter the ticket gates of Hong Kong/Central Station.

The Fare Discount Processors are located at:

  1. Mui Wo Ferry Pier
  2. Cheung Chau Ferry Pier
  3. Peng Chau Ferry Pier
  4. Yung Shue Wan Ferry Pier
  5. Central Ferry Pier 4 (Sok Kwu Wan Exit)

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Applicable only to Adult Octopus cards.
  2. Passengers must enter the ticket gates of Hong Kong/Central Station on the same day after waving the Octopus card over the Octopus Reader on the MTR Fare Discount Processor. The offer is not applicable to Airport Express and the Free MTR Connections journeys offered by the Airport Express.
  3. Fare Discount Processor discount is applicable to paid journeys only. Passengers using a Monthly Pass on designated lines for unlimited rides are not eligible to enjoy the discount (including those who have paid the First Class Premium). However, the discount is applicable when Monthly Pass passengers travel beyond their Pass’ designated lines for the remainder of the journey where fares have been paid. If the Fare Discount Processor discount is higher than the fare of the MTR journey, passengers can only enjoy the discount of up to the latter.
  4. Discount will be removed automatically if the Octopus is next used for entry at an MTR Station other than the designated station(s).
  5. Passengers can only enjoy the offer with the highest discount if there is more than one promotion being offered by the MTR at the same time.
