"Our Memories of Western District" Photographic Competition Details

As a community railway, the design of the West Island Line (WIL) has been specially tailored to accommodate the needs of the community, and to bring out the unique culture of the Western District in the stations design. The MTR Corporation has organised a "West Island Line Community Art Programme" with a series of cultural activities, inviting local communities to participate in the development and design of the WIL. The inaugural activity is the "Our Memories of the Western District" Photographic Competition.

The competition is co-organised by the MTR Corporation and the Central and Western District Council, with support from local community groups. Unique images of the vicinity are captured and outstanding photographs will be selected as the theme picture for use in the three new stations of the WIL. Members of the public are all welcome to join.

In order to further enhance the participation of the community, additional photographs of everyday life within the Western District community will later be collected and computer-processed to form the mosaic components of the theme picture.
