6th UITP Asia-Pacific Congress and UITP International Conference on Public Transport Financing

Despite being one of the world's most crowded cities with a population of more than 6.9 million people, Hong Kong is also one of the cities that has the lowest car ownership where 90% of passengers rely on various modes of public transport. Public transport sector in Hong Kong is thus highly competitive and importantly, profitable without government subsidies and independently run by private companies.

Given all these unique characteristics, the 6th UITP Asia-Pacific Congress and UITP International Conference on Public Transport Financing held by the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) will be taking place on 15 - 19 November 2010 at Asia-World Expo, Hong Kong. And MTR is the local host for the event.

The Asia-Pacific Congress will try to unveil new thoughts, discuss new perspectives and strategies for public transport sector while the International Conference will focus on how to secure stable funding and investment schemes for public transport players. The event will include speaking opportunities by internationally renowned public transport experts as well as market updates sessions for latest advancements and innovations.
